5 easy ways to use powdered MCT oil

If you have heard much about the ketogenic diet or the low carb high fat lifestyle then chances are you have heard about MCT oil. We love powdered MCT oil as it mixes well into our hot drinks. Here are 5 easy ways to use powdered MCT oil.

We love powdered MCT oil as it mixes well into our hot drinks. Here is 5 ways to use powdered MCT oil and the benefits of the powdered form of MCT oil.

Easy ways to use powdered MCT oil

Well MCT oil is a whole foods based clean energy source that helps with weight loss and improves your mental clarity. The best part is it is super easy to incorporate into your lifestyle and we both use powdered MCT oil on a daily basis and reap the benefits.

We love the Perfect Keto MCT Oil Powder as it contains no unnecessary fillers and is 100% MCT oil made from coconuts. For the convenience and flexibility of powdered MCT oil, we would definitely recommend trying Perfect Keto.

    What is MCT oil?

MCT stands for medium-chain triglycerides which are a form of saturated fatty acids. They are an ideal form of saturated fats to consume as they are very easily absorbed by your body and efficiently used for energy production. The oil is extracted from whole food sources, usually from coconut or palm oil.

    Benefits of MCT oil

    • Helps you stay fuller longer
    • Does not get stored as fat
    • Heightened mental clarity and cognitive function
    • Sustained energy levels
    • Improved cellular function

This article provides a more in depth explanation on the benefits on MCT oil, with supporting research, if you are interested in finding out more detailed information.

    Why powdered MCT oil?

Powdered MCT oil is much easier on the digestive system. Some people can have digestive upset when they first try using MCT oil, but we have not experienced that using the powdered MCT oil.

It is always best to start with half a spoonful initially and work your way up, to ensure you don’t experience any digestive distress. Powdered MCT oil has also been shown to raise ketone levels more effectively compared to liquid MCT oil.

From a practical perspective we think powdered MCT oil is so much easier to use than liquid. It is less messy and does not leave an oily slick on top of your tea or coffee. Also if you are out and about it is very practical to add a spoonful of MCT oil powder to a drink and just stir it in.

We travel a lot and travelling with a powder is very convenient compared to travelling with an oil. With an oil I would always worry about it spilling throughout my bag, or the liquid restrictions at airports.

5 Easy ways to use powdered MCT oil

    1. Your favourite hot drink

Dan loves to have her MCT oil in her tea each morning, and I love to have mine in my coffee, but you could also add it to your hot chocolate, bone broth, matcha or whatever your preferred drink is. Adding the powdered MCT oil will not alter the taste, but will give a nice creamy texture.

The great thing about the powdered MCT oil is that there is no need to blend your drink. You can always blend it if you prefer a nice creamy and frothy drink, but if you are on the go or travelling it is so easy to stir it in. P.S. How good does this Frappuccino look?

    2. Pre-workout, protein shake or smoothie

Powdered MCT oil is perfect to add to any cold drink as it is tasteless and there is not a need to blend to emulsify it. You could easily add some to your favourite pre-workout drink, protein shake or smoothie to boost your energy levels.

Dan loves to take the Perfect Keto Perform pre-workout drink, which contains some MCT oil before she goes to Crossfit and she has noticed an improvement in her stamina and energy levels. You could try our Chocolate Fat Bomb smoothie recipe which has collagen and MCT oil powder in it.

    3. Chia pudding

We love chia pudding as a great alternative to eggs for breakfast. But it can also be a great snack topped with some berries or keto granola. Pimping your chia pudding with MCT oil is a quick and easy way to give your self an energy boost and keep you full for longer. Check out our super easy chia pudding recipe here.

    4. Mug cake

We all love a good mug cake when following a ketogenic way of eating. The instant gratification you get from enjoying a warm piece of cake from just a few minutes of work.

Mug cakes are perfect to incorporate some MCT oil into your diet, just add a scoop to your favourite recipe. Check out this Keto Chocolate Mug Cake – yum!

We love powdered MCT oil as it mixes well into our hot drinks. Here is 5 ways to use powdered MCT oil and the benefits of the powdered form of MCT oil.

    5. Pancakes or waffles

It is super easy to add a scoop or 2 of powdered MCT oil to your favourite pancake or waffle batter. We love to make Cream Cheese Pancakes and serve them with bacon and sugar-free maple syrup. These ones sound awesome too.

Eat pancakes made with powdered MCT oil and then enjoy suppressed appetite, improved mental clarity and sustained energy – sounds like a win win to me.

We love the Perfect Keto MCT Oil Powder as it contains no unnecessary fillers and is 100% MCT oil made from coconuts. For the convenience and flexibility of powdered MCT oil, we would definitely recommend trying Perfect Keto.

HOw often should I use MCT powder a day? I did use it once on coffee, and unfortunately it didn’t stay down. I am going to try again with just a small amount.
How much should is ok to use daily?

Start off slow. Just add a small amount each day so your body can get used to it.
