Many keto recipes include dairy. We are the first to admit we love dairy, but we also think we need to reduce the amount of dairy in our day to day diet. We have collated our 30 favourite dairy free keto meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Dairy Free Keto
Many people that are living a ketogenic lifestyle are also dairy free. Dairy free keto has increased in popularity as more people find keto. Some people arrive at keto from paleo and do a more paleo keto protocol, while others are dairy free due to being lactose intolerance.
I have found my gut issues are reduced when I am dairy free and this is a common reason many people are experimenting with dairy free keto.
Dairy free keto Breakfasts
Bacon and Eggs – Bacon and eggs is our favourite go to dairy free keto breakfast. It’s really easy and you can do eggs all the different ways, including fried, scrambled, poached, boiled, even an omelette.
Chia Pudding – We love chia pudding and we make ours with coconut milk so it is an excellent dairy free keto option. You could experiment with adding flavours like cacao and have some fun with it.
Pecan Pie Porridge – In the winter we missed having porridge, but now can enjoy this pecan pie porridge and the bonus is it is dairy free.
Bulletproof drinks – Bone Broth, Chai tea, Hot Chocolate, Coffee Many people living a ketogenic lifestyle just have a bulletproof drink for breakfast. To keep these drinks dairy free use MCT oil and collagen powder to make them bulletproof instead of butter and cream. You can also replace cream with coconut cream if you still want that super creamy texture. You also don’t have to be limited to bulletproof coffee either, we love to have fatty tea, broth and hot chocolate here as well.
Smoothies – Chocolate fat bomb smoothie, Green keto smoothie, Creamy keto cinnamon smoothie Smoothies are another great dairy free keto option. We enjoy a smoothie for breakfast on a warm summers day. Smoothies are really easy to make dairy free, just use coconut mik or almond milk in place of regular milk or cream.
Dairy Free Keto Lunches
Chicken Asian noodle Salad – Salads have always been a favourite lunch option for us in Summer and this chicken asian noodle salad is fresh and tasty on a warm summers day. Salads are a great dairy free keto option, just don’t add any cheese and don’t use cream based dressings.
All the salads – Egg Salad, Chicken Salad, Tuna Salad Mayo mixed with either egg, chicken or tuna is definitely a go to for weekday lunches around here. We would usually have this 1-2 days a week. It’s such a simple lunch to make. Mash some boiled eggs with some mayo, mix some drained tin tuna with some mayo or mix up some shredded chicken with mayo and you are done. We like to season with salt and pepper and occasionally add some curry powder or fresh chives to the mixture. You can just eat it straight up, serve it in lettuce cups or on some seed crackers.
Instapot creamy chicken soup – Salads are our summer go to lunches and soups are our winter go to. We love to cook up a big batch of soup on the weekend and then we have lunches ready to go for the week. Don’t fear, if you dont have an instapot, this recipe from castaway kitchen also gives instructions for a slow cooker.
Keto Blueberry muffins – These muffins from Maya at wholesome yum look amazing. We love to batch cook muffins and store them in the freezer for a quick and easy on the go lunch when we need it.
Egg roll in bowl -Egg roll in a bowl has become a super popular lunch and dinner option on keto. This recipe from Perfect keto uses pre cooked shredded chicken and a slaw mix, which makes this a really quick and simple throw to together lunch. This is another super tasty dairy free keto option that can be pre cooked and reheated at work.
Salami crisps with guacamole – Another great lunch option is to make your own dairy free crisps and dips, add in some low carb vegetables and some olives and you have a great crunchy lunch. We absolutely love these salami crisps. They are so simple to make and give you that crunchy texture we all miss on keto.
Spicy tuna stuffed avocados – Tuna and avocado are a great match and this spicy tuna stuffed avocados from Carolyn at All Day I Dream about Food look delicious. They are easy to put to together and make for a great dairy free keto choice.
Smoked Salmon spread – This smoked salmon recipe from Low Carb So Simple only uses 4 ingredients and would be perfect on some seed crackers for lunch.
Dairy free Keto Dinners
Keto Salmon Tandoori – We are always looking for ways to increase our fish intake as we definitely don’t eat enough. This keto salmon tandoori from Diet Doctor looks like something you would get at restuarant. We will definitely be adding this to our must try list.
Chicken Wings What’s not to love about chicken wings. You can get creative with flavours and spices and you could even experiment with dairy free keto dipping sauces, like this spicy mayo.
Keto Burger – Burgers are another one of those awesome keto meals that makes you feel like you are having take away. It’s also a really great option when eating out. Skip the cheese and any creamy sauce. We love to ask for it wrapped in lettuce.
Keto chicken garam masala – This chicken garam masala dish from Diet Doctor looks amazing. Indian flavours and chicken are a delicious combination and this recipe looks really simple. I love the use of coconut cream instead of cream. If you want to make this completely dairy free omit the butter or ghee.
Chicken thighs with mushrooms This dish is the ultimate comfort food. We love to have this on cold winters night, when we are looking for that warming kind of dish.
Spicy cashew beef stir fry – Asian meals are a really good diary free option. They are also pretty easy to make keto as long as you check that any flavouring you use doesn’t have added sugar. Check out this delicious spicy cashew beef stir fry from Tasteaholics for some Asian inspired ideas.
Low carb beef stew – Stews are another excellent dairy free option. Many stews don’t include dairy and this beef stew from Low Carb Maven would be perfect with some steamed cauliflower.
Chicken Fajita tray bake dinner – We absolutely love tray bake dinners here, and this is one of our favourites. We love the fajita flavours in this dish and the added bonus is that it’s dairy free. This tray bake dinner is also great for the whole family. Just pop it all on a tray and in the oven and dinner will be ready in a flash.
Crockpot Carne Asada – We love dinners that use the crockpot. They are super easy and use the cheaper cuts of meat, making it a great budget friendly and family friendly dinner. Serve this crockpot carne asada from Pastured Kitchen with a keto salad or some vegetables.
Pizza Crust – Now, I am the first to admit, I am not sure about pizza with cheese. If you are living a dairy free keto lifestyle, this pizza crust is an excellent option. Top with your favourite pizza toppings and enjoy.

Yes there are so many dairy free options. Basic cooking, ie pan fried meat or roasts are all dairy free too. One of our favourite meals at the moment too, chicken satay, just uses coconut cream with peanut butter and chilli or curry added then poured over bit size chicken pieces that have been pan fried first with onion and sometimes capsicum. Served over cauliflower rice.
